PPals 12th of December Friday🥑🫚🥓🥫🍱🧉

Hello folks

Almost 10pm and the thread hasn't been started yet. Who's in charge around here?! I'll go ahead and assume that, due to time zone differences, half of you are still on last Tuesday and will not have noticed.

Summer finally showed up here, made it into the low 30s (about 90F), which is hot but not outrageous. Though I had a big sleep this afternoon after last night's house and dog cleaning debacle, and when I get too hot when I sleep I end up with a bad headache and vivid nightmares. Does this happen to anyone else? Woke up before the headache really got going at least, but my mood has really taken a hit.

In other news, the area I grew up has made the international news. This has happened a few times before, and not usually for good. This time for catastrophic flooding. This area floods every year but it doesn't usually make the international news. Spent too much time googling and looking at photos trying to figure out if my parents are evacuated or what. Seems to be a lot of "if the levee breaks", which sounds a lot like "when the levee breaks", which is a Led Zeppelin song. But there's not much I can do and it was making me very sad so I stopped to go play dumb games on my phone to distract myself and didn't start the thread.

A giant spider just ran across my floor, which I take as my cue to get back on topic.

Food, yes, it will happen. Leftovers.

I pressed pause on Reboot yet again and did some total body strength training. Reboot seems to be for people who are rebooting from a little off time as opposed to years of medically enforced inactivity, and is progressing too fast for me. I think I should probably wait until I am not waking up super sore the next day with a migraine before I increase workout difficulty, and I'm really intimidated about doing strength training where the whole workout focuses just on legs or just on arms. I'm still lifting relatively light, and feel like I could do more during the actual workouts, but then end up really sore for a day or two or three after. I wonder about the advice to chose weights heavy enough that you are really struggling at reps 8 - 10 - if I did that I would completely overdo it and be totally destroyed. Are you guys able to lift that heavily? I'm guessing that, since at least half of us are in the chronic illness and disability squad, probably not.
