Let's chat about walking before we get to our workouts. My 2025 goal is to down regulate my nervous system which is running WAY too fast given the last few years of caregiver stress. Yoga, meditation, these seem like good things, right? But it turns out that slow walking is also a calming practice to help us slow down. My scientist friend told me about this yesterday and then she said "I think this is physical activity you were built for." And once I stopped laughing, I had to agree. Since I was a kid, I've been told "don't dawdle" "no dilly-dallying" "pick up your pace" As an adult, if I'm not paying close attention I will be the straggler at the back of the group.
So, what describes your walking? Brisk? Purposeful? Fast? Ambling? Stroll? "hoofing it?" mindful?
Now, for workouts the stuff you come for!
What kind of movement do you have on the menu for today? 5 options to choose from, 1 and done? Cardio? Tasha? Rest or recovery?
For me it's Day 25 of FB Reach and I've subbed in a lovely active stretching routine. I'm going to finish my coffee and get to it!
